As a photographer, I'm able to give the gift of memories. It's as close as I can get to the gift of time. Time...our most precious commodity. We live in a World where moments come to life at the click of a button. Society bombards us at every angle with interruptions, making it more difficult to focus our energy on time with those we care about.
With distraction following us in our back-pocket, we jump at that sudden vibration or sound of a text. At pretty much anytime we can be contacted in some way, whether it's a Facebook notification or a work email...We are all so easily accessible but are we loosing connection to what matters most?
Anxiety, stress and the constant go-go-go is literally ringing in our ears. As we answer the call or hit like on a post...what's happening to the moments unfolding right before us? We know life is short. But time...Time is so fast.
One thing most of us have in common, is we all want time. We want peace. We simply want to live a life of meaning. Learning how to balance it all is a work in progress but we try. It's so important to stay connected and yes, social media makes that easier than ever. But that connection felt face to face...nothing compares.
As time unwinds, memories are made. My hope for myself and for others is to make beautiful memories, share moments where distraction is removed and we are solely focused on the present moment, connected. How we connect to others and to ourselves affects how we view life. And who in the world doesn't love an amazing view?
